In good Sted at all levels
October 24th 2000. The Star.
DC CLOSE put up a very brave performance against Stedfast Utd in the Irish Life Challenge Cup and bowed out of the competition on a 2-0 scoreline to one of the cup favourites. Seamus Ivors was outstanding in goal for DC and could do little to stop Henry Fox bagging a double to send Stedfast into the next round. Henry's brother, Conor, also got a double as he scored for Stedfast in the side's 5-1 home win over Strand Utd in Division One with Ken White (2) and Karl Walsh completing the scoring for Stedfast. Stedfast thirds beat FC Ailesbury 2-1 in Division 2B, thanks to goals from Gordon Meehan and Brian Hannon. Not to be left out, the fourths recorded a 4-1 away victory over Brayzil in Division 3 with Mark Curry, Andrew Tunney, John Grant and Dean Molloy providing the ammunition.
